Nepalese national daily newspaper "Gorkhapatra" has published a news article regarding the distribution of cardamom seedlings by Lamjung District Forest Office (DFO) funded by EbA South Project.
The news reported that 100,000 cardamom seedlings were distributed by Lamjung DFO to 40 local individual farmers and 10 farmer groups. It was observed that there was a huge demand for cardamom seedlings from local farmers. Lamjung DFO has also distributed 10,000 bamboo rhizomes and different species of the tree seedlings earlier. The financial support was provided by the different projects, including EbA South Project, in which cardamom was introduced as part of livelihood diversification strategy.
