An inception workshop will be held from 21st to 23rd April 2015 in UNEP Headquarters (Nairobi).
Among the objectives are:
Setting-up project management arrangements: ensuring smooth operational management and coordination of the project, and building a team spirit and collaborative working environment
Review project progress to date: all participants to brief the team on their respective areas of work, progress to date and implementation priorities for 2015 and beyond
Refine/update the project work plan and prioritize budget allocations for 2015: review the schedule of deliverables and expected outcomes, assess opportunities for synergy, and look at risks and limitations that need to be addressed.
Define common approaches for Knowledge Management, Internal and external communication and outreach, Monitoring & Evaluation
Take initial steps to foster a better integration of the GEF portfolio into the project, fostering synergy towards the implementation of the UNEP Ecosystem Management sub-program
Present the project to the wider UNEP team with a public brown bag lunch presentation on the final day (involving also key external partners such as IUCN and WISP)
