Zero Net Deforestation – how far do current national targets get us?

Posted on: 8 May 2015 / Submitted by: Silvia
When: 14 May 2015 / Where: Webinar

In 2015, the Paris climate summit and the agreement of new Sustainable Development Goals gives the international community an unprecedented opportunity to lock in a high ambition pathway for forests. The New York Declaration on Forests set the goal to halve the rate global forest loss by 2020 and end it by 2030. WWF calls for even higher ambition: Zero Net Deforestation and Degradation by 2020.

This webinar will present pre-publication headline findings of a WWF-UK and Climate Advisers collaboration to assess how far current national targets to reduce deforestation and restore forests take us to either of these zero deforestation futures.

This is a free, open event. Please help us spread the word by sharing this announcement with any contacts who may be interested. All are welcome.
