IIED, the International Institute for Environment and Development, is one of the world’s most influential policy research organisations working at the interface between development and environment.
Ecosystem-based Adaptation is one of the research topics for IIED's Natural Resources Group.
This web page introduces IIED's work in the field. IIED has been a lead partner in ELAN – the Ecosystem and Livelihoods Adaptation Network – which assesses existing evidence for ecosystem-based approaches to adaptation (EbA) in order to gain more recognition of EbA among policy makers. The work has been carried out in collaboration with the UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre, Birdlife International and the University of Cambridge.
